Golden Moment

There are moments in your child’s life that you want to record forever: the first day of school, prom night, graduation. And, as these parents know, the day your child receives the Congressional Award Gold Medal. These moms and dads understandably went a little shutter happy last week after the Congressional Award Foundation bestowed gold medals on 155 youths during a ceremony at the Russell Senate Office Building. The honor, the foundation’s highest achievement award, is given to youths and young adults between age 14 and 23 who complete requirements in four areas: volunteer public service, personal development, physical fitness and expedition/exploration.
