Spend Time With D.C.’s Other Former Senators

With a new era of baseball in full swing in Washington, D.C., four men involved with the District’s previous team will pay tribute tonight to the Washington Senators.

“Take Me ‘Back’ to the Ball Game — Remembering the Washington Senators” will feature a discussion by Fred Valentine, outfielder for the Senators and the Baltimore Orioles; Jim Hannan, pitcher for the Senators; Bill Gilbert, the team’s marketing director; and Charlie Brotman, the “voice” of the Senators. Together, they will relive the days of Senators baseball in D.C.

The discussion will take place at 7 p.m. in the lecture hall of the S. Dillon Ripley Center. Tickets are $23 general and $18 for Smithsonian Resident Associates.

For more information or to purchase tickets, call (202) 357-3030 or visit residentassociates.org.
