DC Sail Holds Open House on Saturday

Capitol Hill residents can sail along the Anacostia River on Saturday at an open house barbecue for DC Sail.

The sailing club offers lessons, boat rentals and racing events in an effort to get more people out on the Anacostia and Potomac rivers. Basic membership to the club costs $50, and those members who pass the certification test can rent out the club’s Flying Scots and FJs without an instructor.

Saturday’s barbecue at the Gangplank Marina will give interested visitors a chance to get out on the water and meet DC Sail members over some grilled food. It will take place from 4 to 7 p.m.; those interested must RSVP to dcsail@nmhf.org or 202-309-1115. The Gangplank Marina is located at 600 Water St. SW.
