Iowa: Boswell Holds Off Primary Challenge

Rep. Leonard Boswell on Tuesday easily beat 2006 gubernatorial candidate Ed Fallon in Iowa’s 3rd district Democratic primary. He was holding onto a 61 percent to 39 percent victory margin on Wednesday morning with 98 percent of precincts reporting, according the Des Moines Register. The 3rd district is competitively drawn, but at this point Boswell looks to be in good shape to win re-election in the fall. All of Iowa’s other Congressional incumbents also appear relatively secure. — David M. Drucker
