Paul Supporters Can Back McCain

Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) said this afternoon he would not object if supporters of his presidential candidacy backed presumptive GOP nominee Sen. John McCain (Ariz.). In a brief interview with Roll Call, Paul said, however, that he would not actively urge them to support McCain, noting that they had “worked too hard” on Paul’s behalf for him to throw them to the Arizona Senator. Paul, who appeared today at the River Centre, adjoining the convention hall, said he had no plans to meet with McCain. “In fact, my movements here are being pretty restricted,” he said.
