House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) and Minority Whip Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) are not meeting Wednesday morning because of scheduling conflicts, an aide confirmed. However, the aide stressed that the meeting was intended only as the first step in a process. It was unclear if Hoyer and Blunt would be able to get together later Wednesday, aides said.
