Iowa: Democratic Mayor Says Latham Is Better Choice

Rep. Tom Latham (R), running in a mildly competitive race for re-election against Dallas County Democratic Party Chairwoman Becky Greenwald, is touting a new endorsement from a Democratic mayor in the 4th district.

Boone Mayor John Slight, who describes himself as a proud Democrat, called the Congressman the best candidate in this race. The 4th district is competitively drawn, and Democrats are hoping that an expected strong Democratic wave on Election Day sows the seeds of an upset.

“I have always followed the belief that the best choice you can make in any election is choose the candidate who you think is best for the future of your family and your community — regardless of the political party affiliation of that candidate,” Slight said in a statement.
