Kentucky: Libertarian Tossed Off Ballot in the 3rd District

The Kentucky Court of Appeals struck down Ed Martin’s attempt to run in the 3rd district on the Libertarian ticket, reversing a previous decision by the Jefferson circuit court to allow Martin’s name to remain on the ballot.

Last week’s decision ensures that voters in the Louisville-based district will choose between freshman Rep. John Yarmuth (D) and the woman he ousted in 2006, former Rep. Anne Northup (R).

The rematch has attracted national attention and significant funding, though polls have shown Yarmuth with a small lead.
