Texas: Jindal Set to Cross State Lines for Lampson Foe

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) was set Monday to headline a Houston fundraiser for ex-Senate aide Pete Olson (R), who is locked in a competitive race with Rep. Nick Lampson (D) in the Republican-leaning 22nd district.

Olson is one of the few bright spots for House Republicans this year, who are poised to suffer significant losses in the Nov. 4 elections.

Olson is a better ideological fit for the suburban Houston 22nd district than Lampson, but he has fewer financial resources than the incumbent. Lampson won the district last cycle in part because his GOP opponent was forced to run as a write-in.
