The Associated Press on Thursday declared Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska) the winner in his re-election race against Democrat Ethan Berkowitz. Young led Berkowitz 51 percent to 45 percent with about 30,000 absentee ballots still to be counted. Before Election Day, polls showed Young trailing Berkowitz in his bid for a 19th term. He is under criminal investigation by the Justice Department and denies any wrongdoing.
