Boehner Announces New Staff

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) announced Friday several additions to his leadership staff.

Antonia Ferrier, formerly a spokeswoman for Minority Whip Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), will join Boehner’s press team as the liaison between the Republican leader’s office and media covering the administration of President–elect Barack Obama, including the White House press corps. Boehner announced the changes in a statement.

Boehner also added two policy advisers to his staff. Katherine Haley will be responsible for developing education, labor and social policy. Before joining Boehner’s team, she worked as the social policy adviser to Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-Mich.). David Stewart will advise Boehner on Ways and Means Committee issues. Stewart served as the chief policy adviser for Rep. Phil English (R-Pa.) on taxation topics.

Boehner’s counsel and policy adviser, George Rogers, will expand his role and handle financial services policy in addition to his current portfolio of issues under jurisdiction of the Judiciary Committee.
