Rothschild Heads to Glover Park Group

Gregg Rothschild, the deputy director and chief counsel to former House Energy and Commerce Chairman John Dingell (D-Mich.), is jumping back into the private sector.

Rothschild will join the Glover Park Group in January.

Rothschild was considered one of the hottest staffers expected to depart the Commerce Committee for K Street after Rep. Henry Waxman’s (D-Calif.) successful run for the gavel last month.

Rothschild and the Glover Park Group declined to comment. Sources said the firm is expected to make an announcement in January.

This is Rothschild’s second tour downtown. He served as Verizon Communications’ vice president and policy council before rejoining the Commerce Committee in 2007.

“Gregg really knows the policy and the substance on a lot of issues that E and C has tackled,” said Yelberton Watkins, chief of staff to House Majority Whip James Clyburn (S.C.).
