Obama to Lunch with Senate Democrats on Wednesday

President Barack Obama is scheduled to meet Senate Democrats on Wednesday to make an appeal for his $3.6 trillion federal budget proposal for fiscal 2010.

Although the Democrats typically convene as a Conference for lunch on Tuesdays, they will also come together at midday Wednesday to accommodate Obama’s visit. Usually, only the Democratic committee chairmen meet for lunch on Wednesdays.

Some key Democrats, including Senate Budget Chairman Kent Conrad (N.D.), have expressed doubts about Obama’s budget proposal.
