Obama to Tap Huntsman for China Post

President Barack Obama plans to nominate Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. (R) to be ambassador to China, the Salt Lake Tribune reported Friday night.

The newspaper reported that the announcement will come Saturday and that Huntsman will resign to accept the post.

The Utah governor has been mentioned as a possible 2012 GOP presidential candidate. He is fluent in Mandarin and has been noted as being a more moderate voice in the party.
