Maine: Michaud Draws GOP Opponent Levesque

Businessman Jason Levesque (R) announced that he will run against Rep. Mike Michaud (D) in 2010.

“Everyday, I see the challenges Mainers are facing firsthand,— Levesque said in a statement from his campaign. “As Mainers are losing their jobs and their homes, and their 401ks are turning into IOUs, Mike Michaud has sat idly by and offered only band-aids and photo-ops instead of long-term solutions.—

Michaud has represented the 2nd district for four terms, winning re-election in 2008 with 67 percent of the vote. Local political operatives do not consider him to be a vulnerable target for Republicans next year.
