Obama Pledges to Clear Up Health Care Bill Ambiguity’

President Barack Obama said Wednesday morning he will offer a “much more detailed plan— on health care during his evening speech before a joint session of Congress.Obama, who appeared on ABC’s “Good Morning America,— acknowledged that “I probably left too much ambiguity out there— about what he wanted as he tried to “let Congress do its thing.— This “allowed opponents to come in and fill up the airwaves with a lot of nonsense,— he said. Obama cited charges that his plan would create “death panels— and result in a “government takeover— of health care as two examples.The president suggested he is still willing to entertain ideas on health care but indicated time is running out. While he said, “We’re not being rigid and ideological about this thing,— he added, “We do intend to get something done this year.—Obama acknowledged that he has failed to quell the partisanship that he sought to temper when he entered office, admitting that “in some ways I think it’s gotten worse.—But he blamed Republicans, insisting that he has shown openness but some “wonderful people— in the GOP who are pragmatic and have sought to work with him have been “shouted down— by others.
