Obama to Meet With Lincoln

President Barack Obama will meet late Tuesday afternoon at the White House with Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.) in a one-on-one session that is likely to focus on health care. Lincoln is one of a handful of Senate Democrats who could decide the fate of Obama’s health care initiative. The president has been aggressively courting Democratic moderates, meeting at the White House recently with Sens. Evan Bayh (Ind.) and Jim Webb (Va.).As the bill begins its march to the floor in each chamber, the president has mostly eschewed public campaigning for health care reform in favor of such quiet lobbying efforts.
