Pelosi, Returning Home, Gets Ovation on Health Care

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) received a standing ovation during a speech to health care professionals in San Francisco on Tuesday evening, according to KCBS radio — her first public appearance at home since the House passed a trillion-dollar health care reform bill Saturday.“I’m hopeful that we will have a bill as a Christmas present for the American people,— Pelosi said. “But we will have a bill and it will be soon.—The radio station reported that the audience included representatives from AARP and local health centers, doctors and nurses, and labor and small-business leaders.
