Slaughter: Massa ‘Needs Help’

House Rules Chairwoman Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.) said Tuesday that she feels “very sorry” about ex-Rep. Eric Massa, her fellow New York Democrat who resigned this week amid an ethics storm about his interactions with male staffers.

“I think he seriously needs help and I hope he gets it,” Slaughter said. “I’ve never seen so much self-destruction in such a hurry,” she said.

She clarified that Massa needs “mental help.”
