South Carolina: Inglis Ready to Launch Another Round of Ads

Rep. Bob Inglis (R) is about to drop his third television ad in less than two weeks.

The 30-second commercial, which will begin running Monday, focuses on government spending.

“We will fight their bailouts. Fight government takeovers. Until we win the majority and turn off the spending,” Inglis says in the ad.

The volume of advertising shows how seriously Inglis is taking his primary challenge from Spartanburg County Solicitor Trey Gowdy.

Gowdy’s ads suggest that Inglis has been changed by his time in Washington, D.C., and that he sides too often with Democrats.

Inglis vigorously denies the idea that he’s moved to the center of the ideological spectrum. When people learn what’s in his record, he said, “We know from our polling data that people say: ‘Yeah, that’s Bob. That’s who we want.'”
