Nation: NRCC Brings Team of ‘Young Guns’ to Town

The National Republican Congressional Committee is hosting most of the candidates who have recently achieved the highest rank in its “Young Guns” candidate program to give GOP House Members a chance to get to know them.

Twelve of the 14 recruits are attending the event on Tuesday and Wednesday on Capitol Hill, including state Rep. Cory Gardner, who is running in Colorado’s 4th district and was just promoted in the program Monday.

The two absentees are state Sen. Alan Nunnelee, who is running in Mississippi’s 1st district, and businessman Bill Flores, who is running in Texas’ 17th district.

The NRCC hosted a similar event in February for the first 10 candidates who earned the Young Guns label.
