Kansas: Moran Spot Says Tiahrt Has ‘Gone Washington’

Reps. Todd Tiahrt and Jerry Moran are engaged in a fierce ad war in advance of the primary to choose a Republican Senate nominee later this summer.

The latest volley came Monday, when Moran’s campaign went up with a commercial that calls Tiahrt “one of Washington’s biggest spenders” and “just another politician gone Washington.”

A Tiahrt commercial that went up at the end of May accused Moran of voting for higher income, property and sales taxes.

That ad, however, generated most of its buzz from a visual that incorporated a quick shot of a tax form that was intended to be generic, but actually was from the state of New York.

The two House incumbents are going after the nomination for the Senate seat being vacated by Sen. Sam Brownback (R).
