West Virginia: Internal Poll Says Oliverio Is Up by 16

Democrat Mike Oliverio says polling conducted for his campaign shows him running ahead of Republican David McKinley.

Oliverio, a state Senator who defeated Rep. Alan Mollohan in the primary, said in a survey of likely voters conducted July 30 to Aug. 2 by Hamilton Campaigns, 52 percent favored him, 36 percent picked McKinley and 12 percent were undecided.

The sample size was 400, and the margin of error was 4.9 points.
