HOH’s One-Minute Recess: Another Special Delivery

The Congressional baby boom continues — well, sort of. Oklahoma Congressional candidate Kevin Calvey and his wife, Toni, welcomed their second child, a baby boy, earlier this week.

The proud papa announced the news on his campaign website, accompanied by a photo. “Baby Thomas has arrived! 8 lbs 8 ozs,” reads a blue banner displayed over a photo of the couple in the hospital holding the new baby.

Calvey is in the midst of a Republican primary runoff for the November race to fill the seat being vacated by Rep. Mary Fallin (R-Okla.). If elected, he’ll join a host of parents with newborns in Congress, including Sen. George LeMieux (R-Fla.), who welcomed baby girl Madeleine earlier this year; Sen. Carte Goodwin (D-W.Va.), whose wife is due to give birth to a baby girl this week; and Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.), who announced last week she’s expecting a baby girl in December.
