Draft Mitch Daniels Effort to Run Ads in Iowa
A student group formed to encourage Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels (R) to run for president has purchased TV time in Iowa, New Hampshire and Indiana.
After initially stating he would not run again after finishing his second term as governor in 2012, Daniels has since been urged by Republicans across the country, including President George W. Bush, to keep his options open.
In the meantime, he has raised his national profile and been touted as a top GOP contender.
The Students for Daniels political action committee is run by Yale students, including national director Max Eden, a senior. The group’s first ad will air on the local Fox affiliate in Des Moines, Iowa, on Sunday during the broadcast of the NFL Pro Bowl.
“It’s time for a no-nonsense man who has the guts to say what the problem is and the will to solve it. It’s time to Draft Daniels,” a Students for Daniels press release stated.
