Feinstein Endorsing Hahn in California Special Election

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) has endorsed Los Angeles City Councilwoman Janice Hahn in the 36th district special election.

Hahn remains the only announced candidate in the race, and she has been racking up endorsements since jumping in the race a week ago. Hahn got in just hours after Rep. Jane Harman (D) announced she would resign from Congress to become head of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.

Harman’s resignation is expected to become official Tuesday, allowing Gov. Jerry Brown (D) to call a special election in June.

Hahn was previously endorsed by LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, state Assembly Speaker John Pérez and NBA hall-of-famer Magic Johnson.

The Sacramento Bee first reported Feinstein’s endorsement.
