Former Sen. George Allen’s GOP primary opponent Jamie Radtke sent him a letter requesting that he join her in fully supporting House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan’s (R-Wis.) budget plan.

Radtke said Allen has dodged recent questions from the press and asked that he take a firm position.

Interestingly, the state Democratic Party has been urging Allen to do the same thing. The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee also made sure reporters knew about Radtke’s letter as Democrats attempt to use the Ryan budget to pressure Republicans.

“We finally have conservatives in Congress who have the guts to lead and are putting real solutions on the table, and Republicans need to embrace them. No more politics,” Radtke wrote.
