Tim Pawlenty Staffs Up in New Hampshire

Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R) announced his top staff Wednesday for his New Hampshire campaign, including a former aide to Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) who will lead his efforts in the Granite State.

Pawlenty formally named Sarah Crawford Stewart as his state campaign director. Stewart was McCain’s deputy campaign manager for the Granite State primary in 2008 and has served as a consultant for Pawlenty’s political action committee since June 2010.

Peter Towey, Pawlenty’s political director in New Hampshire, was political director for Sen. Pat Toomey’s (R-Pa.) 2010 Senate campaign.

Pawlenty’s campaign also announced the hiring of four new field representatives: Luke Kraus, Robert Simpson, Nick Trainer and Elissa Voccola.

Erin Lamontagne, the niece of 2010 Senate candidate Ovide Lamontagne (R), will serve as the campaign’s New Hampshire office manager.

“We’ve assembled a New Hampshire team with exceptional experience combined with energy and commitment,” Pawlenty spokesman Alex Conant said in a statement.
