West Blows Up at Wasserman Schultz in Email

How angry was Rep. Allen West (R) at fellow Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D) on Tuesday?

So angry, according to Politico, that he wrote in an email to Wasserman Schultz: “You are the most vile, unprofessional, and despicable member of the US House of Representatives. If you have something to say to me, stop being a coward and say it to my face, otherwise, shut the heck up. Focus on your own congressional district!”

Wasserman Schultz gave a speech on the House floor earlier in the day knocking West, though not by name, for supporting conservatives’ Cut, Cap and Balance plan. “Incredulously, the gentleman from Florida who represents thousands of Medicare beneficiaries, as do I, is supportive of this plan that would increase costs for Medicare beneficiaries,” she said. “Unbelievable for a Member from South Florida.”

West also wrote in his email to the Democratic National Committee chairwoman, “You have proven repeatedly that you are not a Lady, therefore, shall not be afforded due respect from me!”

He also sent the email to House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.), Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
