Photo From the Attic: Harding’s Funeral

Funeral ceremonies Aug. 8, 1923, mark the death of President Warren G. Harding. Elected in 1920, Harding ran a fabled “front porch” campaign from his home in Ohio, with movie stars such as Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford traveling there to meet him. He died on a state visit to San Francisco and was succeeded by Vice President Calvin Coolidge.
