In a new occasional series, HOH will introduce readers to the offspring — or grandkids, nieces, nephews, spouses, etc. — of politicians who, after spending their formative (and not so formative) years on the Hill, now work here.

First at bat! Robert Sensenbrenner, the younger son of former House Judiciary Chairman Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.).

Robert — who hates that we are about to call him Bobby — is the current counsel for the House Administration Committee. He handles oversight of issues surrounding election law.

“He is an assiduous and talented attorney who has made a great addition to this team,” committee spokeswoman Salley Wood tells HOH.

The kid must be pretty smart because he went to Stanford University for both his undergraduate degree and his law degree, which he snagged in 2010.

He was also called “modest,” “unassuming” and “sweet” by those close to him.

Prior to working for the committee, young Sensenbrenner worked for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and on various Wisconsin campaigns.

It is worth noting that Phil Kiko, the committee’s staff director, recruited the junior Sensenbrenner to the team. Kiko, who has been around the Hill for ages, was the longtime chief of staff for the elder Sensenbrenner.

Fun fact: House Administration Chairman Dan Lungren (R-Calif.) has served with Rep. Sensenbrenner on the Judiciary Committee for most of his Congressional career.
