A Democratic super PAC is set to swoop into Indiana on Tuesday to boost Rep. Joe Donnelly with a $500,000 ad buy for the increasingly competitive Senate race.

Majority PAC will air this spot targeting Donnelly’s Republican opponent, state Treasurer Richard Mourdock, on Social Security:

The buy means Donnelly and Democratic outside groups have spent more than twice as much on television advertisements as Republicans since the primary, according to a breakdown of media buys obtained by Roll Call and confirmed by a second source. It’s a unique situation because GOP outside groups have dominated the ad spending wars nationwide.

The buy marks the super PAC’s first foray onto the Hoosier State airwaves. Majority PAC has made many other six-figure buys to help other Democratic candidates in the Virginia, North Dakota and Ohio Senate races already this cycle.
