Pro-Israel Group Spends $790,000 on Lobbying

American Israel Public Affairs Committee

 reported spending $791,314 on lobbying during the first quarter of 2013. A dozen lobbyists lobbied on issues such as foreign relations, energy/nuclear,defense, homeland security, and foreign aid to Israel and overall Mideast policy issues.

In other lobby filings, the Mayors Against Illegal Guns Action Fund paid Thorsen French Advocacy LLC $20,000 to lobby for federal legislation regarding background checks for firearms purchases. The Mayors group also paid the OB-C group LLC $30,000 to lobby on the Fix Gun Checks Act; matters relating to universal background checks; the Gun Trafficking Prevention Act of 2013; and the Stop Illegal Trafficking in Firearms Act of 2013, among other issues.
