Take a Bike Ride in Seasonal Seersucker
Let’s face it, seersucker isn’t for everyone. On the occasions members of Congress wear the Southern fashion answer to heat and humidity, reactions range from admiration to disgust.
But for those who see the charm of seersucker, this weekend offers an opportunity to show it off at Sunday’s 2013 Dandies and Quaintrelles Seersucker Social, a bike ride through D.C. environs that ends up in a fun and sociable setting (Hillwood Estate is a favorite of years past).
Here are some images from years past:

This year, the Seersucker Social and Ride will be limited to 500, and tickets go pretty fast. In a departure from past practices, folks who only want to go along for the ride but not the social won’t be able to. To rearrange a famous Hunter S. Thompson quote, in order to take the ride, you need to buy the ticket. To register, visit D&Q’s membership site.
And remember, when it comes to seersucker, we mock what we don’t understand.
