Concerns over Hillary Rodham Clinton’s use of a personal email account at the State Department resurfaced Tuesday at a House Financial Services Committee hearing on the international financial system, as lawmakers took aim at Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew and whether he was aware of the account when he worked at State from 2009 to 2010.

“Is it fair to say you don’t want to answer my question Mr. Secretary? Because you know the question I’m asking and you’re refusing to answer it,” Rep. Sean P. Duffy, R-Wis., said the fourth time Lew dodged a question about Clinton’s personal account. “What I’m assuming is you knew you were corresponding with her on an account that was a non-official account.”

Rep. Gregory W. Meeks, D-N.Y., quickly shot back, noting the topic of the hearing was over international financial systems, not Clinton’s emails.

“So maybe other folks don’t have anything to talk about in regards to the economy and what your job really is, so maybe they’re trying to talk about something else since they have nothing of substance that affects the economy of our country to discuss with you,” he said.
