Pelosi Rebuts Boehner: Congress Should Act on ISIS

Two days after Speaker John A. Boehner told President Barack Obama to submit a new Islamic State war authorization to Congress, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi countered, saying “the ball is definitely in our court.”

“I think the ball is definitely in our court to take up this issue and to make some decisions as to how we go forward,” Pelosi said. “There should be an Authorization for the Use of Military Force as we go forward. It’s long overdue. And every timeline and every requirement that the Speaker has asked for has happened. Now it’s up to us.”
