Support Democracy: Devour Drumsticks!
Uber, Nestlé and Capital One are teaming up Friday to see which side of the aisle also happens to be the biggest fans of brain freeze.
DC denizens that can make chauffeured rides appear via smartphone will from 11 to 5 p.m. be able to summon partisan cones — red for the GOP, blue for Democrats and white for independents — by electing for the “ice cream” option.
Minimum order is $15 per delivery (each Nestlé drumstick cone is billed at $3 a pop, so find four friends), but Capital One will treat cardholders who’ve synced their accounts to cover Uber trips to five free cones.
An event organizer said there are thousands of chocolate- and nut-covered ice creams in play — produced in neighboring Laurel, Md., to boot — and noted that Uber would be tweeting out which side scarfed down the most ice cream post-snack rush.
