Richard Burr’s ‘Thing’ is Back on the Road

Car repaired after mechanical issues last month

Sen. Richard M. Burr is back behind the wheel of his iconic Volkswagen Thing after it was sidelined in February.  

The North Carolina Republican has long driven a 1974 model of the car, which originated as a German variant of a utility vehicle during World War II.  

On Wednesday, Burr posted a Vine driving the vehicle in a parking garage:
