Donald Trump is the 45th president of the United States.

Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. administered the oath of office under gray skies on the West Front of the Capitol.

Trump, wearing his signature bright-red tie, is now at the podium bearing the seal of the presidency, delivering a much-anticipated inaugural address that a top aide promised will be “personal” and “unique.”

On the opposite side of the Capitol, the presidential helicopter — designated “Executive One” on Friday — is waiting to transport former President Barack Obama out of the nation’s capital.
