It had a goal of $20,000 but by Thursday afternoon, increased it to $30,000 because it already raised more than $17,000 from 230 donations.

“He was a loving husband to Lauren McClanahan, loving and dedicated father to two beautiful young children, Evie and Matthew. We are asking friends and family and coworkers of Matt and Lauren to donate what they can to help the family with any expenses along the way,” the account reads.

The account was created on Tuesday on behalf of Lauren McClanahan.

McClanahan was killed Tuesday when part of a tree fell on him while he was working on a pipe near the corner of Independence Avenue and First Street.

He was 3o years old, resided in Glen Burnie, Md., and was born in Annapolis, according to his obituary
