Sen. Ron Johnson is opposed to the Senate Republicans’ tax overhaul, a spokesman for the Wisconsin Republican confirmed Wednesday.

“If they can pass it without me, let them,” Johnson told The Wall Street Journal. “I’m not going to vote for this tax package.”

He said the package unfairly benefits corporations more than other types of businesses, according to the news outlet.

Johnson released a statement after reports spread.

“Unfortunately, neither the House nor Senate bill provide fair treatment, so I do not support either in their current versions. I do, however, look forward to working with my colleagues to address the disparity so I can support the final version,” Johnson said.
