$2.5 Million Donation Goes to Democratic Super PAC

A contribution of $2.5 million has been given to a Democratic super PAC by a New York billionaire.  

The Senate Majority PAC, a Democratic-oriented super PAC, reported it received $2.5 million on 7/29 from Michael Bloomberg,  former mayor of New York City, and majority owner of Bloomberg LP.  

Other donors to the PAC included a total of $500,000 from David and Mary Boies  (attorneys at Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP, NY); $150,000 from Jon Stryker  (president of Depot Landmark LLC, MI); $125,00 from Mark Gallogly  (managing principal at Centerbridge Partners, NY); and $125,000 from Elizabeth Strickler (retired, NY); among others.  

The PAC had receipts of $5.6 million and disbursement of $3.4 million from 7/16 to 12/31, leaving $3.2 million cash on  hand.  

David Boies  also gave $500,000 to the House Majority PAC, another Democratic-oriented super  PAC. Other donors included S. Donald Sussman  (founder & chairman, Paloma Partners LLC, ME) giving $500,000; the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Education Fund  giving $350,000; and Bernard Schwartz  (chairman & CEO, BLS Investments LLC, NY) giving $250,000; among others.

Workers’ Voice, a Democratic-oriented super PAC reported receiving $550,000 from the AFL-CIO COPE Treasury.

Gabrielle Giffords’ super PAC, Americans for Responsible Solutions PAC, reported receiving $500,000 from the Mostyn Law Firm in Houston, Texas. The PAC had receipts of $5.8 million and disbursements of $4.6 million for the last six months f 2013, leaving $6.1 million cash on hand at the end of the year.

Ending Spending Action Fund, a Republican-oriented super PAC, reported receiving $200,000 each from Marlene Ricketts (retired, NE) andTodd Ricketts (president, Active Chaos LLC, IL).
