Republicans at midterm convention make their case for keeping control of Washington

The second day of the Republican midterm convention in Dallas brought more politicians, candidates and Trump Cabinet members to the stage, each making the case for helping the GOP keep its majorities in Congress this fall.
Democrats were also in town for various counter-programming events, including Senate nominee James Talarico, who held a news conference Thursday to urge his Republican rival, state Attorney General Ken Paxton, to sue the Justice Department for the release of the entirety of the Epstein files.
Convention-goers also took time to honor the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was killed exactly a year ago, and to pay tribute the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks a day before the nation marks the 25th anniversary of the tragedy.
