Congressional Republicans MUST unite to pass President Donald J. Trump's One, Big, Beautiful Bill and take advantage of the once-in-a-generation opportunity they were given by voters.

Here are 20 reasons why Congress must unite behind the One, Big, Beautiful Bill:

1. It delivers the largest tax cut in American history. This means an extra $5,000 in Americans' pockets with a DOUBLE-DIGIT percent DECREASE to their tax bills. Americans earning between $30,000 and $80,000 will pay around 15% less in taxes .

2. It includes NO TAX ON TIPS and NO TAX ON OVERTIME. This makes good on two of President Trump's cornerstone campaign promises and will benefit hardworking Americans where they need it the most -- their paychecks.

3. It delivers Big, Beautiful Deportations. The bill permanently secures our borders by making the largest border security investment in history, funding at least one million annual removals of illegal immigrants and ramping up "mass deportation operations to a level never before seen in American history."

4. It finishes President Trump's border wall. As a result, 701 miles of primary wall, 900 miles of river barriers, 629 miles of secondary barriers, and 141 miles of vehicle and pedestrian barriers will be constructed -- stopping deadly fentanyl from flowing into our communities and securing the border from dangerous illegal immigrant murderers and rapists.

5. It boosts Border Patrol and ICE agents on the frontlines. It empowers immigration authorities to carry out their mission by hiring 10,000 new ICE personnel, 5,000 new customs officers, and 3,000 new Border Patrol agents -- and gives $10,000 bonuses in each of the next four years to agents on the frontlines.

6. It protects Medicaid for Americans by kicking 1.4 million illegals off the benefits. This bill eliminates waste, fraud, and abuse by ending benefits for at least 1.4 million illegal immigrants who are gaming the system.

7. It requires able-bodied Americans to work if they receive benefits. With 4.8 million able-bodied adults choosing not to work, The One, Big, Beautiful Bill puts work requirements in place and supports them as they find dignity through employment.

8. It reverses the spending curse plaguing Washington, D.C. The legislation delivers the largest deficit reduction in nearly 30 years, with $1.6 trillion in mandatory savings.

9. It ends taxpayer-funded sex change for minors. It reverses the Biden-era mandate that Medicaid cover so-called "gender transition" procedures for minors -- ending the taxpayer-funded chemical castration and mutilation of American children.

10. It provides historic tax relief to Social Security recipients. It slashes taxes on seniors' Social Security benefits.

11. It will give Americans PERMANENT tax relief through the Trump Tax Cuts. If the bill doesn't pass, Americans will see the largest tax increase in history.

12. It finally modernizes air traffic control, fulfilling President Trump's plan to completely overhaul the systems that keep Americans flying safely and efficiently. This will allow President Trump to update our air traffic control systems and act where the Biden Administration failed ).

13. It ends the taxpayer-funded Green New Scam. The legislation repeals or phases out every "green" corporate welfare subsidy in Democrats' so-called "Inflation Reduction Act," immediately stops credits from flowing to China and saves taxpayers $500+ billion every year, and reverses electric vehicle mandates that let radical climate activists set the standards for American energy.

14. It incentivizes MADE IN AMERICA. It rewards companies that build their products in America with lower taxes -- and allows Americans who buy an American-made vehicle to fully deduct their auto loan interest.

15. It is pro-family. The One, Big, Beautiful Bill increases the child tax credit, establishes MAGA Accounts for newborns to start saving, and strengthens paid family leave.

16. It repeals Democrats' insane attack on the gig economy. It repeals the requirement that Venmo, PayPal, and other gig transactions over $600 be reported to the IRS.

17. It protects family farmers. The bill prevents the greedy death tax from hitting two million family-owned farms who would otherwise see their exemptions cut in half and cuts taxes on farmers by over $10 billion.

18. It's a once-in-a-generation chance to revolutionize our nation's defense capabilities and protect the homeland against new threats. It funds President Trump's Golden Dome, invests in American shipbuilding, and modernizes our military.

19. It unleashes American energy dominance. The legislation increases onshore and offshore oil and gas leases, which provides certainty for energy producers, spurs job growth, and makes energy more affordable for American consumers.

20. It boosts American mineral development. This bill increases mining of domestic minerals and makes America less dependent on foreign adversaries for critical minerals.

Signing of the "TAKE IT DOWN" Act

First Lady Melania Trump joined President Donald J. Trump in the White House Rose Garden for the signing of S.146, the "TAKE IT DOWN" Act, a historic and bipartisan new law focused on protecting children and families from online extortion and exploitation through the non-consensual distribution of intimate images and deepfake abuse.

The bill, a priority of the First Lady's BE BEST initiative, passed Congress in the first 100 days of the second Trump Administration, marking a significant early legislative achievement for all Americans.

First Lady Melania Trump said, "Today, through the 'TAKE IT DOWN' Act, we affirm that the well-being of our children is central to the future of our families and America. I am proud to say that the values of BE BEST will be reflected in the law of the land."

In his remarks, President Trump commended First Lady Melania Trump for her work to help pass the "TAKE IT DOWN" Act, saying, "I want to Melania for your leadership in this very important issue. America is blessed to have such a dedicated and compassionate First Lady." The President ended his remarks by saying, "working with our First Lady, we've shown that bipartisanship is still possible."

In March 2025, Mrs. Trump convened a roundtable discussion on Capitol Hill, bringing together survivors of non-consensual intimate imagery, families, advocates for online protection, and Members of Congress to raise awareness about the issue. The President emphasized the importance of the bill in his Address to a Joint Session of Congress the next evening. Mrs. Trump and the Office of the First Lady continued to engage lawmakers during key stages of the legislative process, including consideration in the House Energy and Commerce Committee and final passage on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Today's signing ceremony brought together survivors and their families, Members of Congress, Cabinet officials, and advocates who contributed to the passage of this landmark legislation.

Good afternoon.

It's an honor to join you here today for the signing of the "TAKE IT DOWN" Act--a national victory that will help parents and families protect children from online exploitation.

This legislation is a powerful step forward in our efforts to ensure that every American--especially our young people--can feel better protected from their image or identity being abused through non-consensual intimate imagery or NCII.

Artificial Intelligence and social media are the digital candy of the next generation--sweet, addictive, and engineered to have an impact on the cognitive development of our children. But unlike sugar, these new technologies can be weaponized, shape beliefs, and sadly, affect emotions and even be deadly.

Over the past few months, I have met with brave survivors, deeply-loving families, and caring advocates who know firsthand the emotional and psychological toll of NCII and deepfake abuse.

Elliston Berry stood boldly for change--despite the risks posed to her and her family by speaking out and making her voice heard. Elliston, your voice--and the voices of so many like you--made this bill a national priority.

Many thanks to Members of Congress from both parties for passing this legislation, including Speaker Johnson, Senator Cruz, Senator Klobuchar, Congresswoman Salazar, Congresswoman Dean, and Congressman Guthrie. Thank you all for coming together to prioritize people over politics.

I was saying thank you for being here, first of all. Thank you for having accepted my invitation.

When I came to Washington, I was proposing President Trump meeting between the EU and the U.S., and I'm proud that after one month, there is this initial meeting in which we can sit down and share our -- our points of view, trying to go on.

We know how important is the relation between the EU and the U.S. for a strong West --

VICE PRESIDENT VANCE: Sure.

PRIME MINISTER MELONI: -- for our civilization, also for our economic relations that worth 30 percent of the world exchange. And so, I hope that this meeting can be a new beginning. Let's say like that.

And I was also saying that there are some topics which are competence of the commission, so the role of Italy is mainly the role of -- the wol- -- the role of trying to help a dialogue, which I think is very important -- frank, open, but knowing how important we are each for each other.

So, I stop here. Vice President, please.

VICE PRESIDENT VANCE: Great. Thank you, Prime Minister Meloni, who has become a good friend of mine. And we're -- I know I speak for the president when I say we're both big fans of yours and, of course, of Italy.

The people of Italy have been most gracious, especially today, which was a beautiful ceremony. And all credit goes to the Vatican but, of course, your government for making it possible for so many foreign leaders to come in and celebrate Pope Leo's inaugural mass.

Of course, an American pope. The United States is very proud of him, very thrilled with him, and certainly our prayers go with him as he starts this very important work.

I'm looking forward to this conversation. I think one of the things that Prime Minister Meloni has offered to do -- and, of course, the president and I are -- are excited to accept -- is -- is really to -- to be a bridge-builder, I think in some ways, between Europe and the United States.

I -- I've said repeatedly that I think, you know, Europe is an important ally of the United States. The individual countries within Europe are important allies of the United States. But, of course, we have some disagreements, as friends sometimes do, on issues like trade, and we also have many agreements and many things that we can work on together.

And I'm looking forward to this conversation. So, I appreciate Prime Minister Meloni's hospitality. I pr- -- appreciate Commissioner von der Leyen being here and being willing to engage in this conversation. I think we'll have a great conversation and hopefully will be the beginning of some long-term trade negotiations and some long-term trade advantages between both Europe and the United States.

PRESIDENT VON DER LEYEN: Yes. First of all, thank you very much, dear Giorgia, for your hospitality, for having received us here today, for enabling this trilateral. So, a wonderful day in the Vatican. Thank you very much for that.

And, Vice President, it's good to see you again. We've met in Paris, now here in Rome. And as you said, we have a very special and close relationship.

If I may look at trade, indeed, we have the largest trade relationship in the world --

VICE PRESIDENT VANCE: Sure.

PRESIDENT VON DER LEYEN: -- with more than $1.5 trillion per year. Very much intertwined. So, indeed, it is important, now we've exchanged papers, that our experts are deep-diving, discussing the details. Everybody knows that the devil is in the detail. But what unites us is that, at the end, we want together to have a good deal for both sides.

I would like also to raise the topic of Ukraine. What unites us is that we want a just and lasting peace.

VICE PRESIDENT VANCE: Sure.

PRESIDENT VON DER LEYEN: And I know how much you are engaged in ending this war, and I thank you for that. So, what is important now is certainly that we push that things are moving forward, and I think the next week will be crucial on that.

And finally, perhaps an important topic between us also is the topic of defense. And I know that the European member states have to step up the investment in defense. This is why, as a coalition, we have enabled the use of up to €800 billion in the next four years for defense investment. And this, of course, will strengthen the European Union. But we know what a strong Europe means: always, also, a strong NATO.

So, we will certainly take stock at the NATO Summit, but today, very glad to be here for this trilateral.

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Good.

So, let me just say a couple words. First of all, we're thrilled to join the first papal mass with the first American pope, Pope Leo XIV.

He and I had a very good conversation with Secretary Robi- -- Rubio this morning. We talked about a number of diplomatic issues. And I think, you know, the Vatican -- in particular, the pope -- is going to be a great advocate of world peace. And obviously, I serve a president, I think -- is a great advocate of world peace. And so, we're going to find some very important things to work together on.

So, I appreciate you guys coming. I hope you guys had fun. Happy to take a few questions before we actually hit the road here.

Q I just have a question. So --

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Yeah.

Q -- Trump is supposed to talk with President Zelenskyy today. And I'm just curious: You know, where does the U.S. stand for the negotiation? Is the U.S. still open to walking away from negotiations? Are you guys committed to seeing it through, if, you know, you don't ?

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Yeah. Well, look, I'd say we're more than open to -- to walking away. The president is supposed to talk to -- to President Putin of Russia and President Zelenskyy as well, and I'm sure he'll talk to a number of world leaders today, because he always does that.

But, you know, look, the president has been very clear. This is not -- the United States is go- -- is not going to spin its wheels here. We want to see outcomes.

And the first major outcome that we wanted to see, which we were glad about, is that we wanted the Russians and the Ukrainians to put a real peace proposal on the table. "What would you need to do in order to stop fighting?" That happened. The second thing is they needed to agree to direct talks with one another. These sides hadn't talked in years. We thought that was a disgrace. That has now happened.

But now, you know, the talks have been proceeding for a little while. We realize there's a bit of an impasse here. And I think the president is going to say to President Putin, "Look, are you serious? Are you real about this? Because the proposal from the United States has always been, look, there are a lot of economic benefits to thawing relations between Russia and the rest of the world, but you're not going to get those benefits if you keep on killing a lot of innocent people. So, if you're willing to stop the killing, the United States is willing to be a partner for peace." That's been the proposal to the Russians, to the Ukrainians, and, frankly, to nations and other hot spots around the world.

I won't prejudge the president's conversation. I actually was just on the phone with him. I know he's looking forward to it, and I wish him all the best. I think he's the right guy to negotiate for the country, and I'm -- I'm excited about it.

Q Mr. Vice President, Axios is reporting that you de- -- decided against a trip to Is- -- a visit to Israel after this trip because of the Israeli military's expansion of their operation in Gaza. Is that accurate, or is there a reason for not moving on to Israel?

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Well, I thi- -- I think there's a lot of overstatement there. I haven't seen the story, to be clear, so I don't want to speak to the details.

But the simple reason is, we thought about going to Israel. We also thought about going to a couple of other countries that the president would like me to visit here in the next few months. Logistically, it was just a little bit too hard on -- on basic things like who the hell is going to take care of our kids if we take another couple of days overseas.

But on -- on some -- some more serious things, like how do we provide security, how do we make sure that we get ever- -- all the assets that we need in order to do the right official delegation.

So, I'm sure we'll visit Israel sometime in the future, but not today.

Q And just another question --

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Yeah.

Q -- on Russia and Ukraine. You know, from the administration's point of view, what seems to be the obstacle in trying to get this ceasefire deal?

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Yeah, I don't know. It's a good question, but there -- there are so many different things that are obstacles that it's hard to pinpoint one in particular.

Look, I think one open question is: Is Vladimir Putin serious about negotiating peace? Right? He has made some concessions, he has taken some serious steps in these conversations, but we -- we feel like, you know, we're at a point where we're hitting an impasse, and that's why the president is talking to him on the phone.

You know, I think, honestly, that President Putin -- he doesn't quite know how to get out of the war. If you think about this, he's got a million men under arms. He's reengineered his entire economy. What used to be manufacturing facilities making, you know, products for people to use in their civilian life, they're now making tank shells and artillery shells and drones.

And so, this is a little bit of a guess, but I think the president would agree that part of this is I'm not sure that Vladimir Putin has a strategy himself for how to unwind the war, of course, that's been going on for a few years now.

And I -- I think there's also just a little bit of -- look, there's fundamental mistrust between Russia and the West. It's one of the things the president thinks is, frankly, stupid -- that -- that we should be able to move beyond the mistakes that have been made in the past. But that takes two to tango. I know the president is willing to do that, but if Russia is not willing to do that, then we're eventually just going to have to say, "This is not our war. It's Joe Biden's war. It's Vladimir Putin's war. It's not our war." We're going to try to end it, but if we can't end it, we're eventually going to say, "You know what? That was worth a try, but we're not doing it anymore."

Q Oh, no. You go.

Q Speaking of Joe Biden, sir, do you have any thoughts on --

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Sure.

Q -- his diagnosis?

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Yeah. Look, I mean, first of all, of course, we wish the best for the former president's health. And, you know, it sounds pretty serious, but -- but hopefully he makes the right recovery.

Look, I will say, whether the right time to have this conversation is now or at some point in the future, we really do need to be honest about whether the former president was capable of doing the job. And that's -- that's no -- you know, that -- that -- you can separate the desire for him to have the right health outcome with the recognition that whether it was doctors or whether there were staffers around the former president, I don't think he was able to do a good job for the American people. And that's not politics. That's not because I disagreed with him on policy. That's because I don't think that he was in good enough health.

In some ways, I blame him less than I blame the people around him. And why didn't the American people have a better sense of his health picture? Why didn't the American people have more accurate information about what he was actually dealing with?

This is serious stuff. And this is the guy who carries around the nuclear football for the world's largest nuclear arsenal. This is not child's play. And we can pray for good health but also recognize that if you're not in good enough health to do the job, you shouldn't be doing the job.

President Trump's One, Big, Beautiful Bill will raise take-home pay by as much as $13,300 and wages by as much as $11,600, according to a new report from the Council on Economic Advisers.

"A key U.S. economic agency is projecting that President Donald Trump's tax policy in his 'one big, beautiful bill' will lead to increased take-home pay for American families and higher wages for U.S. workers.

The Council of Economic Advisers , which advises the White House on economic policy, released a report on Monday morning that said, 'Taken as a whole, the CEA estimates that the tax cuts in the President's proposals and the One Big Beautiful Bill will substantially boost investment and GDP relative to if expiring provisions from the [Tax Cuts and Jobs Act] are not extended.' […]

'For workers and families, the CEA forecasts that wages will be about $6,100 to $11,600 higher, with family take-home pay $7,800 to $13,300 higher because of the increase in wages and reduction in tax obligations,' the new analysis said.

The CEA said the added deduction for seniors, meanwhile, would increase the average take-home pay for qualifying seniors by approximately $400 to $450 per year.

If passed, the policies would also boost U.S. investment in the long run from 4.9% to 7.5%, according to the projection, and could save or create as many as 4.2 million full-time equivalent jobs in the long run.

It also estimated that Trump's 'no tax on tips' proposal alone would increase tipped workers' pay by an average $1,675 per year, while eliminating the tax on overtime wages 'will cause overtime workers to increase their overtime hours by 4.7 percent, leading to a 0.2 percent increase in aggregate labor supply while the provision is in effect.'

'As a result, the level of GDP increases by 0.1 to 0.2 percent in the short run. The average overtime worker receives a tax cut of between $1,400 and $1,750 per year,' the projection said."
