That spending includes an extension of the federal production tax credit, or PTC, through 2026, giving special attention to communities that have seen nearby coal mines close after 1999 or coal-fired power
It includes $5 million for fiscal 2022 through fiscal 2026 for the injection and sequestration of carbon dioxide emissions into deep rock formations.
The new rule will increase fuel-efficiency standards by 1.5 percent each year through model year 2026, and it would apply to new vehicles starting in 2021.
