A recent Public Policy Polling survey gave O’Rourke 47 percent to Trump’s 41 percent.
Independent voters preferred O’Rourke, 47 percent to 40 percent.
In April, O’Rourke had 47 percent of women’s support. Peter A. Brown, assistant director for the Quinnipiac poll, attributed Cruz’s improved numbers to a general “mini-move” among Republicans.
Lee, 70, is finishing her ninth full term in Congress, while Sánchez, 47, is ending her seventh term.
