Congressional Award Foundation Honors Staff

The Congressional Award Foundation will host a reception March 21 to pay tribute to Congressional staff who work with the program.

The event will take place from from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Cannon House Office Building Caucus Room.

Established in 1979, the Congressional Award is one of two medals awarded by Congress. The other is the Medal of Honor.

The award is presented to youths between the ages of 14 and 23 who complete requirements in four areas: volunteer public service, personal development, physical fitness and expedition/exploration.

The reception will feature beer and food, provided via donations from the National Beer Wholesalers Association and the Council for Logistics Research.

The foundation will also give away two round-trip airline tickets on American Airlines to two of the invited guests.

Invitations will be sent to chiefs of staff, legislative directors and schedulers. To register in place of an invited guest or to RSVP, contact the foundation at (202) 226-0130.
