Hands on DC is looking for volunteers this Saturday to work on school improvement projects.

The work-a-thon begins with a rally at Eastern High School near RFK Stadium and continues all afternoon. Last year, volunteers helped with projects such as wiring computer labs, refinishing auditorium seats and painting murals in local schools.

The nonprofit, which was founded in 1994 by volunteers, has also raised more than $400,000 in scholarships for local students.

For more information, contact Christina Russell at (202) 667-5808 or e-mail volunteer@handsondc.org.
