The Sept. 16 Hoops for Hope charity basketball game raised $33,000 for Hill Help and Horton’s Kids.

The game delivered yet another heart-breaking loss to the lobbyists, who are 1 for 4 against the team of Members of Congress. The Members, led by Rep. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) and Sen. Jon Ensign (R-Nev.), each with 12 points, won in overtime by just 1 point, with a score of 49-48.

On the lobbyist side, Al Jackson hit a game high 13 points, followed by Greg Ward with 9 points and event co-founder Paul Miller with 8 points.

In an earlier game, the lobbyists beat the Congressional staffers in overtime with a score of 48-45.

Since the first game in 1999, Hoops for Hope has raised more than $130,000 for Hill Help and Horton’s Kids.
