What’s Going On?

Stuck in a hearing and desperate to check out activity on the House floor?

A new e-mail service offered by the House Clerk’s office will allow Members and staffers to do just that, using their BlackBerry devices. [IMGCAP(1)]

The Clerk’s office, which already posts floor proceedings on its Web site, will offer updates through now@mail.house.gov.

According to a “Dear Colleague” letter from the House Administration Committee, sending a message to the address generates an automatic response that includes the most current information on floor activity. The service should work with any e-mail program.

To receive additional updates, users simply send another message.

Unilateralism Revisited. The House Bipartisan Task Force on Non-Proliferation’s discussion on “The Limits of Unilateralism,” has been rescheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday in Rayburn House Office Building Room 2154. The event, hosted by the task force’s co-chairmen, Reps. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) and Christopher Shays (R-Conn.), will feature primatologist Jane Goodall, actor Michael Douglas and retired Ambassador Thomas Graham Jr.
